-ting an act of gross indecency. I considered at that time

whether Gulab who admitted the charge should not be pro-

-secuted in a Court of Law, but, in view of the fact that

in a case of this nature publicity does more harm than

good, I decided to dismiss Gulab, holding that,

as,

under

the Pension Regulation at page 161 of the Police Regula-

-tions, such dismissal involved forfeiture of pension,

it

was a sufficiently heavy punishment for an officer with a

record of 17 years' excellent service: and I have now the

honour to submit my action in this matter for Your Lord-

-ship's approval.
